SONY VAIO

Sony says that the live chat option for support on my VAIO is not available with my model.  It states "But chat is not currently available for your model. so here are some alternatives to get you the help you are looking for."

Some phone numbers that might help find answers at Sony are:

VAIO Computers:  1-888-476-6972.
Sony Table, which I don't own:  1-855-476-6982.
Consumer Electronics: 1-888-222-SONY (or 7669)
And of course their website @ Sony.com.

My model number is VPCEB42FX.

Need to remove rvzr.-a.akamaihd.net.
Tech support at Sony is all about collecting your data.  They want your first and last name.
No harm, no foul, you say?
Then they want your email.
     No harm, no foul, eh?
Then they want the model number to your computer.  Oh, brother.  They want this information to set up an account.  Why don't they furnish you with one bit of information before they get greedy with your data?  They just assume that your data really isn't your data, that it is shared the world over online and everywhere else.  So why not fork it over?

Because it's your data.  And they want it as a precondition to helping, when in all likelihood they either can't or won't help you.

PayPal & eBay

PayPal takes a fee at the time of the sale when you sell things on eBay.  PayPal's fee is 2.9% of the sale plus 30 cents per sale.

eBay charges 10% of total sales.  But they charge you like a utility bill, on the 15th of each month.
